This seashore is a classic summer vacation spot with six beautiful beaches for swimming, hiking trails through marshlands and forests, bicycle trails, charming lighthouses, and even some fascinating history involving transatlantic communication.

Nothing much has changed since I was there all those years ago, by the look of these pictures. It's a bit of drive to Provinicetown, but well worth the time and a beautiful drive. Boat tours to watch whales during parts of the year. Assuming it's still the artist colony it was, not many would find this little town disappointing.

I think that may be part of what the National Seashore designation was supposed to achieve--this timeless preservation.

We returned to the Cape and what is now the national seashore a couple of years ago after growing up in Mass and travelling there often. The Cape has never upgraded its roads and the population has outgrown the land base. driving is an ugly experience there. Walking the wondeful ark areas on the seashore was fun but ole P-town has become a a haven for undesirables and not the lovely artist colony it once was. I guess it is true-you really can't go home again.

Marvellous and scenic. There are a lot of splendid sites around where I live as well and there is nothing more relaxing than enjoying scenic sites, especially ones relatively untouched.
