I needed that laugh, thanks J L. I'm still chuckling and there is something historically significant about the people that work on shoes or hair, we seem to chat with them unlike other types of services. If Don was just selling a sandwich people might be offended by him, but not the guy selling a shoe shine. We know he is right, we forget to take care of our shoes.

This reminds me of the town I live in, we have our official Shoe Shine Man. The town gave him a little shed to work from and he gives the best shine around. He is still doing shoes at 82. Story below.

How refreshing he is. "Those boots need love too" made me laugh and he doesn't get ruffled when he's turned down because he loves what he's doing no matter what. Thanks for posting this smile today!

He's quite a character. I get the Upworthy newsletter in my e-mail and when I saw this earlier it made me smile and made me think about all the things I'm grateful for and how it's all in the attitude. I was also thinking he's in the same city that has Wall Street, but is representative of Main Street: everyday people just trying to survive amidst the slings and arrows of life. Thanks JL for sharing.

That's not a shoe shine. It's a soul shine!

All work is honourable if you enjoy it (and it isn't illegal).
