I think you'll be surprised at just how difficult it is for millions of people to find healthy, affordable food -- and how widespread this problem has become.

Whenever I need to, I can walk a short distance from my home in Philadelphia to several grocery stores where I can buy healthy and affordable food. But for millions of Americans, accessing nutritious food is often very difficult. In many places across our country, grape soda is a lot easier to find than fresh grapes.

How hard is it? Take the Healthy Food Access Quiz and find out for yourself.

It might be tough to believe, but millions of people in this country do not have access to healthy, affordable food within a reasonable distance of their home. That means they often must travel a long way to buy food that is good for them.

Itís especially challenging for the millions of Americans without a car. They often have to rely on public transportation to get to the store and back, if public transportation is even available where they live.

Now imagine how much tougher it is when people are working long hours to support a family. These folks are often struggling to simply afford food at all. Traveling a long distance to buy nutritious food requires spending extra time and money they cannot spare. Or think about senior citizens, who are on limited incomes, often cannot drive and may have trouble getting around.

But donít take my word for it. See for yourself how big this problem is.

I think youíll be surprised at just how difficult it is for millions of people to find healthy, affordable food ó and how widespread this problem has become.

57%. I flunked, but I still learned quite a bit.

Thanks, Judi.

57% but it could have been higher as I changed a couple of answers on second guessing. Noted & posted

43% - ugh! I didn't learn much, I guess it's so hopeless that I'm not concerned, since I live in the city where reasonably priced food, and lack of food stamps, make eating a trial and quizzes like this one irrelevant!
