More crude oil was spilled in U.S. rail incidents last year than was spilled in the nearly four decades since the federal government began collecting data on such spills, an analysis of the data shows

One more reason to wean ourselves off "dead dinosaurs" and develop renewable energy sources!

I've been reading articles on this and in Canada the increase of this tar sands oil, the dirtiest there is, is increasing all the time. More rail cars yearly is being added on and the towns and places that these cars are going through do not yet have safety and readiness plans in place to deal with these potential disasters that are happening at a greater clip. The rail system itself is outdated and needs repairs and this extra sudden burden upon the rails is a strain and taking it's toil.

I reported the spammer.......

HOLD ON This is going to get A LOT WORSE. OBAMA has tried to keep it low key and apparently had done a good job since no one is talking about that Jan 22, 2014 opened the Southern link of the Keystone XL that he approved and signed. TY for posting JL. Why and when are millions of people going to take a united stand and take action? TY JL Noted

The Keystone pipeline was opened last weekend - where was the outcry? There was no media coverage, no outrage, no Nothing - this is an affront to the nation and Obama has made his stand perfectly clear - this is worthy of civil war - bomb the pipeline in different places.
I've been following the train incidents, just this week there was a near catastrophic derailment in Philadelphia, could have been horrific - we must stand against the corporations that are terrorizing our country and jeopardizing the world!

Remember the Corporate Media is just that......Corporate and they are all in bed with each other. The People are VERY much on their own, which is why we need to unify with one another. The various environmental groups need to help each other, the Unions need to stand with the environmental groups and vice versa. Those who are standing for various human rights be they for gay or women's rights need to stand with the environmentalist, the Unions, and each other. Until the people truly unite as a massive voice this will be crammed down our throats.

I did my best before the election to say, Obama wasn't going to be your friend no more than Romney, but too many were fearful that Romney would get it so they wouldn't vote for the Parties that truly wanted to move us in a better direction. Fear keeps people stuck in the same place, fear keeps people doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Both Parties have been inching us to the same place. Republicans may be pulling harder but the Democrats are now where the former moderate Republicans use to be and are as much in the Corporate pockets. Wall St. did give Obama a lot of money for his campaign. He didn't cover anything up, he was speaking about nuclear and "clean coal" and fracking. People must stop hearing only what they want to believe and truly listen to what is said. Obama only stopped the pipeline until after his election, for he was fearful he'd not get elected if he did it at that time, when many were being arrested outside the White House.

Both Parties, play the people like fiddles and most dance the tunes. The Republicans are quick to point out the ills of the Democrats, and there are many, and the Democrats point out the ills of the Republicans and there are many, but no one looks at their own Parties doings in all of this. Come on, except for some individuals that are in both Parties, the Parties themselves are not your friend. If you must be "tied" to a Party best get more of the Elizabeth Warrens and Alan Grayson's in and get those extremists out of the Republican Party, they have long lost touch with the Republicans that stood under Lincoln or Eisenhower.

We cannot let our guard down about the greed by these corporations. They occupy our attention in one area and work to destroy a different area. They are not only greedy, but very sneaky too.

I have to correct myself, it opened last Wednesday, not last weekend -- sorry, my fingers just did their own thing!
