From Gulf Restoration Network:

The BP drilling disaster made it tragically clear that federal rules overseeing the use of chemical dispersants are deeply flawed. In the wake of the disaster, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) promised reforms. Yet itís been almost four years, and our coastal communities are still at risk. Tell EPA and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to act now to reform dispersant rules to protect the health of our communities and environment.

1.84 million gallons of Corexit were sprayed into the Gulf of Mexico during the BP disaster, despite responders having no knowledge of the its long-term impacts or effectiveness underwater. Sadly, those impacts are still reverberating through the Gulf of Mexicoís ecosystems and communities today. EPA and OMB need to stop stalling.

We cannot continue to allow oil companies to use these dangerous chemicals as a first response to oil spills without ensuring that they wonít do long-term harm to the people and wildlife of the Gulf. Please take action to tell EPA and OMB to hurry up and publish revisions to their dispersant regulations before the next major disaster.

For a healthy Gulf,

Cyn Sarthou
Executive Director

The Gulf of Mexico is all but dead and simply waiting for the funeral. The last gasp was the dispersants used, and BP knew well that those dispersants were highly toxic to marine life, but would provide a superficial shine to the turd they dropped on/in the Gulf.

I sent this message to my friends.....yet aren't we all friends?

So I'm going to print it in this appropriate space.

I just want to share with my friends a comment I left on ---- Tell the EPA it's time to Close the Loopholes.....

I so much admire my Care2 associates and friends. We have the courage to fight the fight and keep on fighting until we win. AND win we shall.

The wind is blowing 106 an hour in Britain. In U S A, many states are snowed under. Climate Change has begun to rage.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Our beloved Mother Earth is in a worthy rage!

Climate change is screeching.

106 mile an hour winds in Britain.

America......many states are snowed under.

Mother Nature is screaming curses upon those who destroy
her crying, hysterical children.

Let's keep doing what we're doing. We are the stronger children of Mother Earth.
We shall continue to defend her and to weep for her misery.

If we win, we will know we had something to do with it.

If we lose, at least we won't be saying, "Oh, if only I had..."

We will know we did what we could do.

And we did it together.

I am so honored to be part of our Care2 activists and to know that we are connected with at least almost all activists groups.

Many are our religions and persuasions ...... but most of us believe in miracles by one name or it Positive Thinking or my own Jewish Kabbalah....most of us believe in something and I invite our atheists and skeptics .....believe in yourselves and do what you can do together with the Christians and witches and Hindus and Native Americans...... Working together in incredible unity we shall yet save our Mother Earth.

Forget the labels. Mother Earth is mother of us all for through her we were born.
