"Your welcoming of the Olympic torch would suggest ... that you are ready to turn your back on a unique opportunity to promote legitimate international concerns and ... take a stand for justice in Tibet and China,"

These games are they not about togetherness of all countries????? China seeks dominance over all - they have no compassion for the Tibetans why on earth should they be hosting these Olympic Games?????

I agree - yesterday I read a woman sentence for seven years prison for praising the Dalai Lama.

This summer I wrote His Holiness Dalai Lama asking to have the Tibetan national anthem played at the opening ceremonies.

China is well known as an extremely repressive government. As much as I dislike the Chinese Government in what they do to its citizens in terms of Human Rights, to countries like Tibet, Taiwan, I am in favour of not letting the Torch in and through San Francisco.

Mayor Newsom, newly re-elected as Mayor, should not allow the Torch in San Francisco. After all, Newsom and the rest of the Council won't allow WWII Warships to berth there as part American History and a very big Tourist attraction (MONEY) in keeping SF free of war armaments. Why should SF allow the Torch pass through SF for the Olympic Games in China. China is big on armaments against its own citizens.

It is bad enough that the "Olympic Committee" decided to have China host the games - They should have said "NO!". And lastly, I refuse to buy anything made in China; products are cheap and inferior at the expense of the workers and consumers alike. As for the Athletes competing in the Olympics, I hope you all do well.
