" It was August 10, 1990. Schuett was 8 years old and lived alone with her mother in the first floor of an apartment complex in Dickinson, Texas. The bedroom windows faced the parking lot.

Investigators were never able to identify a suspect, but new DNA testing may change that.

CNN normally does not identify victims of sexual assaults. But Schuett wants to go public with her story-- and her name-- to increase the chances of finding and prosecuting her attacker.

"It's not about me anymore," she explained. "It's about all the little girls that go to sleep at night. I know there are so many girls out there who have been raped and hurt. You have to fight back."

For that, Schuett, 27, is relying on her voice, her memory and advances in DNA testing."

I admire Jennifer for what she is doing. Remembering a rape and the physical description of her rapist is great for her, as she wants this man caught. My God, 8 years old. All this time!! . Bless her heart. I pray that they find the scumbag who did this to her, and that she has a wonderful life, she rightfully deserves. TY, Dee.

I was raped so manytimes and never reported it. No one told me what rape was or what do do when it happens to you to get your power back. Dr. Kam Yuen helps relieve the gulit and grief and memeries of the gang rape. I had PTS for manyyears until he healed me. The Yuen method works for PTS not anything else I tried it all. Education about rape woul dhave helped me in Elementary school.

A very brave young woman. I hope they find the monster that raped and almost killed her. I hope people will make sure all windows are locked it's a sign of the times unfortunately.

What a brave and courageous girl - my heart goes out to her. Let's all pray they find the person responsible for this unthinkable act on an 8 year old innocent young child.

After reading this, I have so much respect for Jennifer for gaining so much strength as she grew up. It's really amazing. Such a horrific experience at such a young age must be so difficult to recover from. To hear that the FBI have not given up and see the strength in her as well is uplifting too. I don't know what else to say besides this story really blows my mind!
