This year she finally reached her goal; collecting more than 1,000 coats to be donated to St. Vincent de Paul.

Makenzie was there as crews rolled the coats inside. She said she was able to collect so many coats because of family.

“I have a really big family who knows about it and gives us a bunch of coats. My mom and dad know a bunch of businesses, and we’ve dropped off boxes at different businesses and they’ve collected them from there.”

Jason Smith, Makenzie’s father said, “It’s amazing what this is grown into, and how it’s made everybody grow, not just her, but the family, friends and community.”

Organizers with Saint Paul said they plan to distribute the coats as soon as possible.

this is such an ispiration. Lets hope she stays like that forever. She reminds me of a song; I can't remember what it's called, but it's saying how this girl was so incredible, that the world just wasn't ready for her and I think she got mistreated or something. Great song, great girl

This little girl's story is one out of many which show us that we should not underestimate children. As we see with lovely Makenzie, they have an amazing perception of the world around them and want to do what they can to make it better.

Thank you Jean..There are beautiful stories out there..There is much good news to share..and I always feel they are just as important to post..Maybe even more the constant bad news can be a bit disheartening and make some a bit cynical..

There are wonderful Souls in this world..both young and old..And every single one of them deserves many thanks and much least in my opinion..
