However I did not know until now that they are to become part of a paediatric cancer research programme. Horrifying! Surely someone can stop this insanity!

Why do people not go there and confront them, what the hell are the people on that side scared of - THIS IS THE ONLY WAY WE ARE GOING TO SAVE THESE POOR ELEPHANTS IS BY CONFRONTATION AND ATTACK THESE BASTARDS.

And to think that for a few hours came to imagine that the scum who for decades has amassed fortunes at the expense of the suffering of elephants between an innumerable range of animals would have, for nothing, a noble gesture of piety and free his slaves so that finally could have a more noble life. Not surprisingly it were all a deception, since all the other animals were hostages of the gang. I'm surprised tycoons so smart do not bow to the new demands of clean shows, creative, technical, as, for example, the Cirque du Soleil, hammering on the same rusty key and with it, following the animals in his painful Via Crucis.

They are trying to justify it all and are already issuing the pre-planned statements to the effect that the cancer research ONLY involves taking bloods and that they are only chained to the concrete floors overnight to prevent them stealing each other's food. (Try feeding them properly and they won't be tempted to 'steal'). They say they leave the concrete enclosures to go 'with the herd' during the day. No doubt herded there by means of the bill-hooks and electric prods. What a disgusting, despicable and totally cynical exercise. Thank you all kindly, for noting and sharing. Doubtless more petitions on this await.
