Hi my name is Angel.......

I was at the Tucson animal shelter scheduled to be euthanized. It was my last day of life!!!

Some of you may not know this, but at the shelters it's tough and some of us don’t have much of a chance at finding a home or making it out alive. If a dog is shy, or older or even just has a cold, they will be euthanized. It was my last day to live.

I laid in my kennel on the concrete, looking through the bars of the kennel door....just another day of loneliness and waiting for someone to open the door. It was my last day, but I did not know this....I heard them talking saying my kennel number and saying my time was up....would I be walked down the long hallway to the room where they place the dogs on a table and inject the veins of the dogs with the killing solution......It was my last day and that could have been my story.

But when the kennel worker stopped at my kennel and opened the door, she did not walk me down the long hallway to the euthanasia room, she walked me and my mom "Shelby" the opposite direction and we walked through the lobby of the shelter and we were leashed up and the front door of the shelter opened and I saw sunshine!! A nice lady came to the shelter to pick me up and transported me and my mom to safety.....WE WERE RESCUED!!! by an angel. We were given life.

I am looking for a home, I am approximately five years of age a mix breed of love and kindness.

I have a cat named Mya. Her story is similar. I was looking for a black cat. The shelter had a foster mom there with a black cat. We were going to adopt her. It just didn't feel right. We knew she was going to remain in foster until she was placed in her forever home, foster mom assured us of that, so we took a pass. As we were walking out of the shelter, one of the ladies asked, "Would you mind looking at this little girl?" Mya was kept way down low, out of sight really. It was an instant connection. She is the smartest cat I've ever known. During the adoption process, the worker said you are saving her life for sure, her time was up on Monday. (We adopted her on a Saturday.) It was one of the best things I've ever done.

Thank you so much for this...I hope she finds a home...Truly hurts my heart!

Just to let you know my little rescue Jessie was scheduled to be put down and the breeder of my English Setter rescued her, Jessie was so abused she was deemed totally non responsive and non adoptable.

Took a look at her in Sept of last year, didn't get her, but she had staired at me all the time and finally in January after it was 2 years after my Heart girl Scarlett had passed, I called the breeder and said I would foster her.(only since Sept 2008 and I rescued Jessie Jan.15, 2009). After only 1 week, I called the breeder back and said I'm keeping her...Didn't want a dog that was 7 1/2 yrs old since all of my girls had gotten ill at 8 and totally broke, but this one just took my heart and kept it...

Hope this beautiful angel gets a loving home like my special Jessie has, she is snoring right next to me...all of these special animals deserve to be loved and thank you so much for writing this article...

Praying for this animal to get a great home with someone who will truly care for it...

Thanks Rebecca for this --- Noted with tears falling...never thought I would do a rescue myself, lots of issues with my girl and lots of problems with all of the abuse that she had, but she is totally a love to me...For me - though, there will never be another Heart girl like my Scarlett.
