We must halt the brutal killing of Yellowstone's buffalo by the National Park Service and Montana's Department of Livestock. It is unconscionable that more than 1,200 buffalo from America's last wild, free-roaming herd have been sent to the slaughterhouse

We came to close to loseing them Now the numbers got high And Again Humans want to Kill again!!!!!!!!MORONS!!!!!!!! Leave Them ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jim is right it's a DISGRACE!!!!!!!!
You know Diana that they are all tied together - the Wolves, the Koyotees, the Bison or Buffalos, the Rabbits, the Deer ... etc if we would stop meddling all would be fine - but NOT a Chance!!! No matter what sientist tell them, no matter what the studies say. AS soon as we realx on an issue - there their are again. The arrogance of us humans is just beyond words.
It was 496 days ago I submittted a story on this tragedy that comes around each year.
The buffalo are fighting an endlaess war alongside the wolves in Yellowstone,
and it angers me beyond belief that it still continues year after year. The media ignore
the horrible situation that is becoming a given by the greedy cattle industry that uses
the system against our own wildlife to keep their use of public lands. Public lands that you,
me and every taxpayer support with our tax dollars. Who gives this greedy bastards
the right to use our own lands, our own system to slaughter innocent wildlife?
Please read the past article so you all can get familiar with how these self proclaimed
land abusers who have been acting as "god" against our own wildlife. I am at a loss as
to how we can use the system to protect the buffalo and wolves both who have roamed these
lands for thousands if not million of years without the interference of man. These buffalo
have no disease..they haven't ever proven that they ever have had it in the any recent past.
So how do these bastards manage year after year to get away with murder? Forit is murder.
Murder of both the wolves and buffalo. For no other reason than to keep the ranchers in control
over "OUR PUBLIC LANDS".
Yellowstone Buffalo Slaughter Begins Another Year..Cruel & At the Taxpayers Expense

Signe, noted..for yet another year they killinnocent wildlife out of greed.
People need to start getting angry before they are gone.
Oh, and they also use Homland Security to escort the cattle off the Yellowstone Park lands. IS this how you want your dollars and taxes used?
Please show me why this is needed, and just how the American wild buffalo became a National security risk.

Signed and noted. I agree wholeheartedly with the cause. BUT there are inaccuracies in this petition. There are other free roaming herds. (We used to have one near us in Custer State Park SD. They are just incredible to see. These are also culled for meat because their natural predators have been hunted to near extinction - or at least to the point where they cannot maintain the natural 'population control' of the wild! (Brucellosis is hogswash. Buffalo have immunity from almost all the diseases that cattle succumb to and most of these require and animal to be acutally infected - sick -before the disease can be transmitted.) The return of the buffalo was really not due just to the few who survived in Yellowstone. The real story is fascinating. A book worth reading is David A. Dary's 'The Buffalo Book'. It's incredibly detailed and very moving.

I read about this this morning and sent the letters off. This is one more reason to eat vegetarian/flexitarian - it is the ranchers who are afraid the buffalo will spread disease. I called for a boycott of Montana beef.

Noted and Signed. Ranchers and others like them wish and try very hard to become a mono-culture, as some agriculture businesses are. They will someday wake up and realize there are millions of other living and important organisms that are necessary to their continued health both business and personal. Bison have been a part - or should I say were - an extremely important part of this country's environmental stability where they fulfilled a sybiotic relationship with grasslands and other similar habitats. Domestic cattle - bred to be stupid - don't even come near to fulfilling the niche that bison did. Wild cattle, thats any story. Gosh, I becoming weary of the same terrible mistakes we humans make over and over again throughout this beleaguered earth.
