What a great story!! Of course there are many good people there - as in all the world. Unfortunately, it is the low-lives and corrupt that get most of the publicity. Thank you, Alicya.

Thank you I needed to see some humanity happening in China. I know it's not ALL of the Chinese people, but it isn't just the government. The guys that slams the cats into the ground to sell them for fur are not bureaucrats. They're just unfeeling, inhumane scum like all countries in the world have. Granted the government needs to make cats and dog fur and meat trades illegal and other things, but we can't blame it all on them. Having said all that, the government does set a tone, which some people follow. Enough. I'm sure every one who reads this post agrees that something must be done to stop these crimes against animal!

Very beautiful story. All of the people I have ever met from China have been very good, respectable, compassionate people. I wish we had more members here on Care2 from such areas. When you condemn the people of China because of their government, think of our own government and what a good part of the world thinks of us as a result. Be careful in your judgements.

Jilyanne but at least we are not beat down like they are and we do get things done for animals...unlike china they are very slow in understanding animal rights...

Not all of them. I don't mean any offense here but feel led to say a word in defense of my friends. They are not happy about the wrongs going on in their country and their ability to do anything about it is much more repressed, which is all the worse.

Exactly that is what I was saying.....I never said all of them werent good people...No voice to be heard their government doesnt listen when it does come to the animals....we read about it all the time and cannot do anything from here....

What a great story. There are great people all over the world. Unfortunately, it is always the jerks with the money and the power it can buy who usually end up running things.

Thank you for sharing a great story out of china. There are people like this starting to emerge in a number of areas in China, including Beijing and Shanghai. Ultimately they will be able to help with our animal campaigns. Yes it will take time, but hey what else do we have to do :)

Wonderful! People like this excellent woman really make your day. I admire her enormously and all my respect goes to her!

This is why itīs not right to blame complete nations of being barbaric, as thereīs good and bad EVERYWHERE. OK, the animal cruelty that goes on there is absolutely horrific, but so is bullfighting in my country and you cannot accuse me of it for being Spanish, in fact, put a bullfighter in front of me in a dark alley and the kick on the 'eggs' would be colossal!!
