The next time you are stung by a bee, here's some consolation: a toxic protein in bee venom, when altered, significantly improves the effectiveness liposome-encapsulated drugs or dyes, such as those already used to treat or diagnose cancer.

They are doing magnificent work with bee venom therapy for conditions such as multiple schlerosis. How wonderful that they can help with cancer too.

" Busy as a bee", they were actually busy working on improving the drugs used for the treatment of cancer. Great job, Bees.

I've always loved bees. They are such wonderful little critters. I just hope they don't end up suffering for the sake of man.

Another reason yet again to respect & protect all living beings! As small as bees are they are certainly worth more then their weight in benefits to humans. I admire bees as they are hard little workers. Thanks Nancy for posting.

Bees have always been my favorite even before I knew much about them. Their social structure is amazing! The fact that they ingest honey when the bee keeper blows the smoke into their hive to save it for the colony is amazing to me. Thank you for the post!!
