tech trends in schools means families have to keep up with tech trends, often the children are 'teaching their parents' along the way.

My two year old great gran daughter knows more about those gadgets than I do , she lives in Australia and I was talking to her on Skype , she told me she was going to take my picture with her mom's phone and she did , I would not know how .

I'm not sure I agree with children being so reliant on technology, but it does prepare them for adulthood in a technology-driven world.

Great. Our children will have every opportunity to develop learning and creativity in new and fun ways. Using computers too helps children with learning disabilities to cope better too. Wonderful, wonderful news. Now if only we could find enough funding to ensure all schools had the necessary equipment.

Is there no human-to-human communication in education?

Apparently not. They're not learning to write or use English well, either. I know it's a hi-tech world but I'm concerned about what might happen in a different world, where resources are limited and information is NOT instantly available.

Just call me a LUDDITE!
