have you noticed the lack of african americans on this site? it bothers me. i've never been anywhere where there aren't any blacks. i know i'm not black, but i can't help feeling lonely. when day arrives that i stop coming to c2c, it'll be because my black brothers and sisters aren't here with me.

Isn't it racist to select what to read based on the colour of the authors skin ? or to presume that it would matter ?

Well said, Carl. Too much attention is being paid to the color of one's skin.

I admire and respect many of the people on that list...I also admire and respect many authors of other colors.
But, Carl and Marian have said it for me.

I don't see how we can have it both ways...we're either a color-blind society or we're not. It's too much, really... Black Entertainment Awards...The Hispanic Entertainment Awards...Best Black authors...and so on. It seems we can discuss POSITIVE things about groups of people but, if we try to say something as simple as "Hispanic gangs" or "Black drug dealers" we're called racists!

Imagine the "United White College fund?" "White Entertainment Awards?" "White women in film?"

I've no idea how many people of various skin tones post here, unless they choose to show us a photo.

Frankly, I don't care what color you are. Just be fair.
