YUCK! I am wondering if this was the problem with my sister's brand new camper which they had to take back to the dealer because of a mold problem?!
It makes me want to go scrub the shower, tub, and bathroom all over again.
Will be more thorough in the future.

We just had to replace our bath room walls for we were going to paint. We were putting in a new surounf that goes above the tub and the walss must have had a leak. We found it and fixed it cut out the old sprayed it down with bleach frist. replaced it with moisture board which was not on the bathroom walls this is so very important, for id you don't have them it will hold moisture. Turst me I work construction 12 years so I do know about a lot of dangers od mold and osbestes. Thanks Kat

As a past property manager, black mold wasn't considered a serious problem until the 1990s. In Washington leaky roofs and window casings from a damp rainey climate started the mold. If caught before it gets deep into the carpet or sheetrock walls -- clorox can kill it. often it starts in bathrooms, closets, and walls by or under exterior doors and windows. Check these areas at least twice a year in damp areas. Another cause of the mold is stale, stagnant air. Have a FAN in the kitchen and bathroom and use them after steamy baths or cooking - the best is circulating air by opening windows or ceiling fans. A last and often overlooked partial cure is to layer the ground under the home with gravel which will absorb moisture. Just a thought --- were the old, drafty homes less mold attractive than the newer ''airtight'' homes?

P. S. Forget the best preventative of all ----- get and use a DEHUMIDIFIER. black mold grows on moist walls and dies on dry walls.

In most places a dehumidifier works. I had a nice one for my small one bedroom and it one day caught fire! Over worked.Yes I had mold so bad that I had to move leaving most of my possessions behind. I was charged for the five year old carpet which was full of mold because of sewer over leaks and water heater leaks. I also came down with asthma while living there. Thanks Kat!
