another reason for NO private prisons. I don't think all Nazi guards disliked their jobs. Prison guard is a control freak's dream job second to owning slaves. Granted many prisoners are low lives we would not want to encounter in even a well lit alley, many are where they are because of really really bad choices. A bullet once fired, can't be retrieved back into the gun. Sometimes a split second could make the differance for many of us on the outside who have better control of tempers. Even smoking the "wrong cigarette" could put us in a cell for years.

Gloria, by the way, I totally agree about private prisons - which should be banned - and I have a petition that hasn't gotten much attention about this, even though I believe it is a VERY important issue. And remember, not all people in prison are guilty - and many not of any serious crime. And those who kill the most people are our leaders - who aren't even called down on their crimes - most of the time.

The prison staff should be the inmates for a change. I mean seriously, deprived of sex or what? How do we become role models for inmates to follow when they come out to society? We should teach them to love animals and feel guilty for their crimes. Not this.

Update: Prison superintendant Hall has retired. Lead officer Jackson has resigned. David Jones is still under investigation, and SBI is reviewing the case, according to an update by Raleigh News & Observer.
