Diego was sent to Zacango Zoo, just outside of Mexico City. At the zoo, Diego is being confined to a small concrete cage where he is showing signs of stress, frustration, and boredom.

DIEGO IS A WILD LION, YOU IDIOTS. HE BELONGS IN THE WILD, NOT IN A SMALL CONCRETE CAGE. HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE FORCED INTO A CLOSET WITH NO ROOM TO MOVE, AND NOTHING TO DO FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE? FREE DIEGO IMMEDIATELY TO THE WILD OR TO A SANCTUARY WHERE HE WILL LIVE A LIFE THAT A LION DESERVES.

signed. Jailed in a tiny cage. The poor lion's only mistake was to have been born in a third world country. Kinda applies to humans too.

signed and noted....why have an animal like this day after day confined in a small cage...they were meant to roam and be free....just to have humans stop and look at them for a few moments then move on.....for the sake of the f***g dollar...may you rot in hell causing this animal the abuse and cruelty he is living each day....for God's sake, free him and put your ass in the cage for humans to look at!!!!!!! now that would be worth paying to see!!!!! this is a form of animal cruelty and needs immediate attention....these majestic animals can not survive in this type of cramped quarters......born free........ever heard of that you damn idiots??????????????

When God said: "And man shall take dominion of all animals", do we really think this is what He had in mind? I don't think so. Man's insecurity and lack of self respect drives us to do things like this, most likely to give us the futile thought of superiority over animals, something we will never understand how all was meant to be and how to share this biological world as one.

Signed. To Ron M. the bible doesn't really say that. Several years ago, they had a computer translate the Bible from Hebrew to English and this was one of the 200 plus translations that was wrong. Depending on what the first language was of the person that translated the Bible a thousand years ago, these mistakes are easy to make and the difference between Hebrew for dominion and what it really said, which is 'protect' was one letter. The word was spelled having an 'a' in it which meant 'protect', but the interpreter translated the word as if it had an 'e' in it which means 'dominion', and that's what happened. Or it might have been the other way around the 'e' was the original spelling that meant 'protect' and if it was spelled with an 'a' would have meant dominion. I don't understand why our preachers never mention these things. I read about this and then heard one of the evangelan ministers talking about on TV one day.

Mexico is no place for any " incarcerated" animal. Their concept of animal welfare is throwing food into a small cage. We have to get that cat out of that country and into a US sanctuary.

Isaac Bashevis Singer Nobel Peace Prize Winner wrote in his book, 'Enemies a love story', "As often has Herman had witnessed the slaughter of animals and fish, he always had the same thought. In their behaviour toward creatures, all men were Naziís. The smugness with which man could do with other species as he pleased exemplify the most extreme racist theories the principle that might is right. Lest we forget!

I fail to understand why this lion isn't in a wildlife rehab preserve being readied to return to the wild (preferably wearing a camera so people can watch how he lives in the wild without harming him) instead of in a stupid cage.
