Sad for Thriller... wonder what brought about the lung cancer ? The MJ estate should give to Hendren's organization in memoriam for Thriller and for the continued care of Sabu and the other big cats there.

Noted! Sad that he never visited OR donated to these beautiful animals after surrendering them to Tippy. Thank God that Tippy had a place for them , which sounds beautiful and perfect for them. I guess Michael was to busy ingesting his bedtime glass of milk!

I saw this before and yes, it is sad that for a man who professed to love his animals so much he never visited them. At least Thriller had a good last few years in a place where she was taken care of. Tippi Hedren was great in "The Birds" and she plays an even more important role in her life as the savior of big cats.

Disgraceful but typical of people who dump their pets. For someone who had that much money to make no contribution to Tippy's wonderful work is appalling. Did he contribute to his chimpanzee Bubbles I wonder. No one should have an exotic animal as a pet.

So sad to hear about Thriller. Taken too soon. I love Shambala and Tippi's work. I just wish owning wild animals was illegal worldwide. Thanks Kelly

These big cats are so fortunate to have someone like Ms Hendren to watch out for them. What a shame MJ never cared about these beautiful cats after he surrendered them. Thanks for the post Kelly.

I always thought Michael Jackson was a nice guy, but giving tigers born on his property to a sanctuary without a donation?! He had millions of dollars. Appalling. I have always been a fan of MJ, but I have also worked at an animal sanctuary. I have spent years working low-paying jobs and have managed to help animals that weren't "mine". MJ certainly could/should have provided for the tigers' care.

Rest in peace Thriller. It is sad that these Big Cats are kept as exotic pets by individuals who think it elevates their status symbol.

Read & sadly noted. Sadly, yes because this beautiful tiger died, but also, because of all the uncaring, selfish, weird, & untrue comments people have leaving! As I commented on the article, "let sleeping dogs sleep!" And, let the dead rest in peace! Remember this, you can NOT always believe what you hear or read. None of us was ever actually there, at Tippi's sanctuary, so none of us really know for sure whether Michael ever visited or gave money to help support his tigers. What I DO know, is that no matter what people have ever said about or against Michael, he LOVED animals, he loved people! He would never do anything hurtful or neglectful. Leave him ALONE already! Find someone still living to bash! Have none of you ever heard the sad fact that when someone is too nice, too caring, they are usually the ones that others take advantage of. I believe with my heart that all the bad, negative crap said about Michael was all lies, lies to gain publicity, attention, or his money & fame!

While the death of any animal to other than old age is sad, and I agree that Michael's even having tigers was not "right", I'm wondering why this is worthy of a Care.2 article? Animals die of disease all the time. I lost my beloved 14-yr-old Golden Retreiver to cancer (bone cancer) last January and he meant far more to ME than a tiger belonging to an overpaid drug addicted "pop star". Nobody wrote any article about him to memorialize him.

I read this somewhere before. God Bless all the animals in the world and those that have passed. So glad that Tippy was there to save the tigers and provide them with a good home. Disappointed that Jackson could care less.

It's a nice thing that those big cats can roam free, and I am sorry for Thriller00

It just show that ANYONE can get lung cancer. I'm sure that the tiger didn't smoke.

I did not know Mr. Jackson personally, but from what I have seen of this man, I do not believe that a man who has visited children who were sick with cancer giving toys to them in the hospital, and seeing him with his animals whether it was the chimp or other animals, I do not believe that he would not visit or take financial responsiblity for them. I don't believe that he was the monster the Media set him up to be. I believe he made some mistakes in judgement but we all have done so. May Mr. Jackson and His tiger both rest in peace. I believe He was a good man with a good heart.
