West Palm Beach, FL - A few short days ago, the Pompano Beach Animal Control received an emaciated Shih-Tzu. The dog, so gaunt that it seemed unlikely that he could survive, arrived to the shelter in an orange bucket.

as long as any being lives in fear and death at the hands of man so shall all men live under this same threat the earth is our shared home and to do good should be our shared religion and under the fact of evolution all beings are our family.
you can tell a lot about a person or society by the way it treats the beings it doesn't think it has to treat well. silence is acceptance
life has value beyond measure
Peace and Love

Sometimes life can be very isolating, but when I read about the love and caring from a human animal towards other sentinent beings on this planet, I realize there are some really good folk out there. And I am grateful. Unfortunately, so often I have to be reminded.

Thankfully, one organization promptly responded and now, this little dog is safe, recovering and now has a name, Miracle.

Being a pedigree, this baby should have no problem being adopted. Looking at that horrible picture, I often think lanimals like this belonged to somebody, ran away, and could not find its way back home. Never being on the streets, it hid, scared, no knowing how to fend for itself. After all, it is 3 years old.

The picture was hard to look at. Miracle is definitely in my thoughts. It is remarkable what food and love can do and hopefully Miracle will fully recover and get a wonderful home.

Thanks for sharing Miracle's story with us. Sadly this is a story we have all heard many times before. Make animal abuse a felony, so that innocent animals don't have to suffer like this by the hands of demented individuals.

Humans are a revolting species.
Karma to the piece of crap that abused this poor dog

I am just sick. We need to get the animal population under control so those that can't take care of a pet won't be able to have one. I believe animals are the eyes and ears of God and cannot speak so not to give away their mission. The person that did this has been noted by God and God will surely punish them more severely than we could imagine. God Bless this little baby and all the animals in the world.

People think that because another person don't see them, that they are off the hook, but what people don't understand is that God see ALL and he will being true justice!!!

This is HORRIBLE to look at. How could anybody let an animal starve.? Whoever did this needs the same thing done to them, they DON'T deserve anything less. I pray this little dog gets well SOON and that someone will adopt her. She deserves all the love and care in the world. God Bless you Miracle!!

At the humane society in my neighborhood there's a stiff fine for people who drop off an animal on the door step. All animals have to go through animal control before they reach the's the law. But I think that in a way, this dog received a miracle. If the person who found the dog cared enough to take it somewhere where it may have a chance, then I applaud the decision. As for the bastards responsible for the dog's state? Read my thought bubble.

You know I am totally convinced that "people" who do things like this to animals are sociopaths. No conscience toward the care and feeding of a breathing entity. It saddens me greatly because I also know (after being a counselor for way too many yrs) what people do to each other. Kindness is free but for some it comes with great difficulty and for others (obviously) it does not come at all.I am NOT saying that what these folks do is in any way OK.I guess it is way too idealistic to think that there is enough love and caring to go around.Regardless, I will do what I can on my end and i know we all try to here. Namaste'
