Distressing news from the live export trade is nothing new, but today's news surpassed even our worst fears: Thousands of Australian sheep exported to Pakistan have been clubbed, stabbed and buried alive.

Instead of being the shepherds, protecting the animals, people all over destroy/ brutally kill/ slaughter them, sad world we live in. Many animals would have been better off with out certain humans in it.

It is heartbreaking to think about the horrors these poor sheep are put thru. First a long trip without food and water only to be tortured to death. Live export needs to end, stop putting greed before compassion.

There is just something wrong with some people, when I was handling student vets during lambing season I was quite shocked to have two men with torches in a field chasing pregnant ewes to steal or kill, they resulted upsetting an entire flock and caused several ewes to abort their lambs and two ewes to die of shock. The following day two Pakistani men came to the farm offering to buy the dead sheep for 10. Still, the cruelty involved in live exports is that many countries don't even care about the animals and there are countries where cruelty to animals is actually a form of entertainment which is quite stomach churning.

To sign there is a link in the first paragraph under the video, that will take you there. Please also join the humane chain, this is a really important animal rights issue for us Aussies and we need all the support we can get from around the world to help these animals. If you want more there is an awful expose on the last incident in Indonesia, just look up "four corner live export".

Thank you.

Cannot figure out how to sign, not on facebook. A very confusing site. I will have my say though.
Live export is just too cruel, especially when exporting to the Middle East.
The ships are too crowded, and so are the trucks taking the poor blighters to the ships. I got stuck behind one of those double decker sheep transports for a while on a country road. It was an ugly sight.
The Middle East orders sheep, and when they get there, they change their mind and declare them sick and the poor sheep are stuck on the ship perishing by the thousands. In this case they ended up in Pakistan and the weak ones were murdered in the most horrific way.
I think our government (and others as well) should ban export of live sheep and cattle alltogether. The transport method is absolutely cruel, and at their destination they get murdered in a most brutal way to be halal.
I have seen videos of Australian cattle being tortured and then killed in a most inhumane way in Indonesia. Export was briefly stopped, but our Labor government caves in as usual, cruelty is back to normal.
BAN LIVE EXPORT. Muslim countries make us an accomplice to murder.

Signed. I hope God will do the same to those involved as they are doing to these animals. I believe animals are the eyes and ears of God and cannot speak so give away their mission while here on earth. All animals feel pain and joy and want to live as much as a human. Stop ALL live export of animals. Respect ALL animals.

Once again the brain-dead politicians of Australia should hand their heads in shame for allowing the live export of innocent and vulnerable animals to another brutal and cruel country. Its time those same brain-dead politicians stopped putting money, profit and greed before its own animals' welfare. BAN ALL LIVE EXPORT, stop the misery, stop the horror, stop the pain, stop the agony, stop the torture, stop the torment, stop the blatant and wanton cruelty, stop the abuse and BAN ALL LIVE ANIMAL EXPORT.
