In the latest shameful chapter of their war on workers, House Republicans passed the Orwellian-named "Working Families Flexibility Act," which gives business owners the flexibility of not paying hourly workers a higher wage for overtime work.

If the employees got the choice between OT and Comp time I'd have no problem with it. but giving the employers the "flexibility" really sucks. Signed and noted.

Doesn't it just get you how when they want to change something that affects us they want us to send them more money!

Begging used to be the fate of the poor, sick, unemployed,

Now it's the skill of the politicians.

Comp time is not the answer. Salaried "exempt" employees (who are not legally entitled to overtime pay) are often denied comp time when they work more than 40 hours a week. It happened to me.

It's amazing, isn't it, how the GOP is trying to lead the country BACKWARD, attempting destroy every provision that protects workers? I think it is high time the party is eliminated. What good do they offer? None in my book!

Say WHAT?! I'm an hourly worker and I can't believe they are allowed to do this! What the heck is wrong with them? Why don't they just ban paychecks period and show what they really want - the working class to have no money whatsoever so we're always in debt to them! Geez. Gladly signed.

Perhaps we should start docking the repugs pay every time they don't do their jobs ~ like for the past 5 years. Don't screw with our paychecks, social security or medicare!

That sign pictured above really says it all.
The Plutocrats want nothing more than to have more, and that means taking it away from the rest of us, as much as they can.

I was hoping to be able to leave a comment to tell them that they live up to their name REPIGS..They are scumbags who dont deserve what they get and they DARE do this? So people will tell employers screw you and will get fired when asked to work over 40 hours and so the revolving door goes on..These bastards are disgusting mother f---ers and IM TIRED of holding my tongue. these heartless SUBHUMANS need their asses kicked out of office and for real..I dont see them willing to take a pay cut except for those few and they cut programs for the poor and do THIS??? We all know that our politicians know nothing about working over-time.
So, why should we be surprised that Republicans don't want our citizens to get a few extra bucks to put in their pockets, which they will probably spend anyway, which will help the economy?

As far as the GOP is concerned, if Big Business doesn't want it, shouldn't happen.
