As the deadline approached, Connecticut's Gov. Dannel Malloy signed a state dissection choice bill into law! Connecticut makes 16 states plus Washington D.C. that have laws or policies allowing students modern alternatives to traditional dissection.

This is excellent. I wish I'd had such a choice in school. It was over 30 years ago, but I still feel guilty over the earthworm and frog I had to cut up, and grief over the dead cat I saw in the biology lab waiting for some student to desecrate it.

more than 40 years ago I refused to dissect. My teacher was understanding. If it came down to my principals I would have taken the F. This story is good news.

The Sisters tried to get be to dissect a small turtle. I stuck him in my pocket of my school sweater and after throwing him/her at a Bitch in the gravel yard we had on break and I seen the Sisters coming because the bitch chicken screamed like a little girl, I threw the Turtle over a fence into the bushes and yelled RUN... Off to Mother Superior's office again. *lol*
