RIP JERRY Like all horses who are forced to pull carriages, Jerry has to work in all weather extremes, including the scorching summers and the bitter winters of Salt Lake City.

No, Jerry's dead? I can't believe it and that they lied, SOB's. the owner took a week to report it because his mobile phone was out of reception? What poppycock!!!
Have sent a polite email...Grrrrr....
Thanks for posting and putting us straight Kerry. RIP Jerry xxxx

I am absolutely shocked and saddened to hear of Jerry's death and I just cannot believe that carriage horses are made to live out their days by suffering and working long days in all weather until they collapse of exhaustion. This barbaric, dark ages practice should be barred, as this is not the way horses should be kept and treated. Shame on you. This is not the way to portray your tourism to visitors, who will be put off visiting Salt Lake City in future until this perpetration of cruelty and suffering is stopped. I hope you will take heed and use all your powers to portray this cruel treatment immediately,

Yours sincerely,

Marie Jones

Horrendous, barbaric. Can't believe the mentality of some people, especially in a so-called developed country. Will be sending an email and/or letter later today when I've more time. Thanks for sharing. RIP beautiful Jerry. So, so sorry that humanity was so inhumane to you. Love you. xxxx

Noted and sent - poor poor Jerry - you have lived a life of nothing but pain and suffering - you are now at peace big boy where you can run freely, away from the horrendous sub humans who put you through all this without even worrying about what they were doing to you. May they fall under some huge truck driving past! Dear God I hate these monsters!

This is what happens when animals are thought of as commodities. It is disgusting but true which is why i, like many here, have a low opinion of our species. Give me a herd of horses over a crowd of people anyway.

Poor horses. Are no animals safe from humans, the biggest predators of all?

If someone had treated their dog like this they would have rightly been charged with animal abuse. It's time we treated all animals equally.

omg... how so sad :( The words 'horse' and 'forklift' should never be used in the same sentence...... unless of course the forklift is used to the horse from danger to safety.
e-mail sent!!

RIP Jerry!

Thanks Kelly.

This guy tries to claim that his horses are treated like family. My question is "does this guy make his family work out in the heat and cold for hours on end"?

This is just terrible. GREED AND MONEY!!! Poor Jerry, he just didn't stand a chance against them. Its a shame that people don't think about the poor animals when they are out for a good time, thinking that a horse pulling them out in the brutal heat of the sun is something fun to do not caring about the poor horse. They are just as guilty as the horse owners. I truly wish that this "Fun Thing" horses pulling carriages would be totally banned.
