The corrupt politicians in Romania try to hide the real problems of the country by highlighting the problem of the stray dogs in our country. They want to put them down to get rid of them and also steal some money out of this whole business.

If you accidentally sign a petition twice, you'll only be counted once.

Done, thanks Kelly.

I signed all petition about Romanian dogs, have been wondering if i can really help them. I think we should make another petition asking the EU don't approve Romania's membership to the EU since the country is so barbaric.
What do you think Kelly?

I think that would be more of a consequence to their barbarianism. Dansaka understands the any fallout from this more then I do since I am a US res. I would contact her and Danuta. I am friends with both if you need me to contact them for you. GREAT IDEA

SJ, you are right. The EU is behind this as they fund countries like Romania. The money going to pay dog-killers and unscrupulous "shelter" owners should be going to help sterilize and care for the thousands of abandoned street animals in the country.

The mentality of the government is warped and corrupt---money goes into the pockets of street killers rather than the people who are trying to control stray populations and care for the animals that are abandoned.

The latest rampage over killing dogs goes back to the death of a small boy who was found dead in an area where dogs seek refuge in Bucharest. Even though evidence now proves the child was sexually molested by a predator and thrown over a fence, street dogs were blamed for his death and now Romanians have a blank check to carry out mass killings of all street animals---young, old, homeless, pets---anyone who wants can kill and the government condones it. Dogs are being skinned, burned, beaten, hanged, shot, knifed, tortured---

I just posted an Avaaz petition for teens in Romania who filmed themselves running over dogs with cars.

The EU is partially responsible for the insanity. I have seen several petitions out against the EU for allowing this to happen and promoted one last year that gathered a ton of signatures. I don't know what happened to it. What I do know is Four Paws, HSUSI, IDA, IFAW and a host of other global animal welfare organizations
have petitions and letters out. I'll be sending out a mass mailing of a bunch of them soon.

In the meantime, God help the strays of Romania and the Balkans---they need all the help they can get.

Signed. Thank you, Kelly. But if Romanian dogs are as numerous as they seem to be, it might become difficult to save them and to find loving families for all of them.

The European Animal Welfare Intergroup writes for the second time to Romanian president. Romanian authorities and EU Parliament are flooded with messages from people throughout the world.
The EU can use the 13th article of the Lisbon treaty and the other legal measurements to stop this law - if they want!!!
I truly hope EU will stop this madness.

Thank you Kelly, also Michelle and SJ!
