How I hate people who dump their loyal animal friends in kill shelters or in the streets. I hope this beautiful doggy will be rescued. Old dogs are very smart, my Wasti was an old deaf boy when his owner dumped him in the streets. I took him home with me from the shelter. Please, rescuers out there you must take him before its to late, please!!!

It says that Sandy had a family, she was just living with some people, because to have a "Family" means to have someone to love and care for you your whole life!

Please, someone go and rescue this sweet little darling, give her a REAL FAMILY!

I hope that someone takes in "Sandy" to their home... it will have to be someone within distance... and someone who can care for a dog going into senior years - but looking at Sandy's face... she will love you all the years she is left alive!

I do not condemn the family that gave her up despite the fact that Sandy is on death row... we can't know the family's circumstances... we can only judge from our own perspectives and that is not fair.

How can any owners decide to surrender their dog after sharing their life with her for 10 years? Is it because she is now older and possibly needs more care? I wonder how they'd feel if they were put out as they grew older. Disgusting people-no conscience-no soul-no heart. Will share with all in the hopes of finding Sandy a new home before it's too late with people who will truly love her. A pox on those "owners" TY Kelly..

Shared and noted. I cannot tell you haw many times I have held my elderly dogs in my arms as they passed. It is a very hard thing to do, but one does it out of love and understanding that their life is at it's true end in this plane and one lets them go. To leave one's elderly pet, one that one has loved, lived with, nurtured and watched as they went from puppy to old, old have the absence of heart and soul to just dump them at the local something beyond my comprehension. I could not do that to any of my Children of the Korn, and I have had many over the decades.

To abandon one of your 'family members' to a pound....for what....more room? REALLY????? How callous and heartless is that. I hope and prey that it haunts these people thoughts for the rest of their lives in times of quiet...when there is no answering bark.

Please visit the link below and help me network BOCA, a gentle blind German Shepherd that
desperately needs rescue from the Downey Animal Care Center in Downey, California.

BOCA is a beautiful boy and a gentle spirit. For this reason, he is a staff favorite. BOCA is wary
of other dogs but stays close to your side and is very calm. He needs a home where adults and
children are kind, gentle and able to accommodate his special needs.
