On September 13, 2013 our family's seven year old mastiff, BJ, woke me at 1:30 am. He was agitated and clearly in pain. Seeing his extended abdomen I immediately suspected bloat, and called our local vet to let her know that I was bringing him in.

This is another sign of the almighty buck being more important than any person or animal. If you are becoming a doctor or vet, you are in the profession of helping and saving people and animals, not letting them die because they don't have enough money.

This precious life didn't need to die. We go to Doctors and Vets for help and to be told sorry if you can't pay now, you can take it home and let it die or euthanize it. I am not feeling any compassion here. We all understand that they need to get paid, but financial options need to be made to help those that don't have the full amount right away. A family is devastated now, when she said she make payments to keep BJ alive.

I signed and wrote: What a very sad story, and my heart was broken when I heard this tragic story. I'm going to post this petition on my website http://www.pawsforthenews.t and help spread the word. Unfortuantely, I've heard similar situations, and I'm not sure why some veterinarians even get into the field and can allow such a thing to happen. I'm greatly disappointed in University of Missouri-Columbia School of Veterinary Medicine and they all should be ashamed of themselves.
I sincerely extend a warm hug to you, and convey my deepest sincerest condolences for your loss.
