Good. I hope this serves as a warning to the other lowlife scum that fight dogs. I hope the children are in a much better place as well, although it doesn't sound like it could get a whole lot worse.

We can hope it serves as a warning but the people who do the are too dumb to get a clue. Bless the poor pups and the folks that rescued them. A pox on the morons who did this. Drawn and quartered is good. Or how about feeding them to the dogs they injured. No, wait...that would poison the dogs. Never mind. Let them alone in a room with someone who cares for the animals. THEN they will learn a lesson, a painful, long ad torturous lesson.

GOOOOD. I hope this POS serves no less than 7 years as i highly doubt he'll do the 15 years at all. These sentences need to become the norm otherwise one here-one there will do nothing to curb dog fighting. Thx Kelly

May Pennsylvania hold to therse sentences. Sadly, there are children involved who lost their parents, and in addition, have seen too much in their yioung lives.

Thank you for that info on Christmas. It just adds gravy to a great day. Too bad it couldn't be life.

The sad truth is that with that sort of a sentence, just like Michael Vick, he will probably be out in less than 5 years on probation, and since he's obviously a no-real-work idiot, trying to go back to the only thing he knows how to do. But at least he's off the streets for some period.

So why didn't Micheal Vick get 15 years? Because he was an NFL star, they get a pass. Like Kamia T. said but the sentence will be longer because Shane L. Santiago is not only not an NFL star but he's also Latino, the rules are just a wee bit different.

And don't let the SOB just SIT there enjoying TV and getting free everything. Make him WORK. Make him do something for the community. Most of all, at the end of the fifteen years, make sure he never comes in contact with ANY animal ever again.

Thank God this Judge had Compassion in his Heart for these Abused Dogs ! So many Animal Abusers get off with a Slap on the wrist ! I hope this Asshole sits for a Long Time ! To do this to these dogs is Horrible! Because they are so Loyal to their Humans ! I have seen so many of these Great dogs destroyed because of Bad people who Fight them ! I Rescuded my dogs from this type of life,I'd NEVER let anyone hurt them ,nor would I,they are such Sweet dogs, they Love me and I Love them ! All Animal Abusers should be in Prison for 10 years as a minimum ,plus fines, and Never be able to have pets again ! One small Victory for Our Pits ! :) Noted ,Thanks !

Noted. Thanks for sharing. Always glad to hear about some victories for these poor dogs forced to fight other dogs (and those used as 'bait' dogs) - is there really a such things as 'justice' for them? Perhaps not, however, keeping the people who do this to them off of the streets is very GOOD news. Some answered prayers for the animals - AMEN!

15 years is not long enough plus he should have to pay for the dogs medical care and room and board for the rest of their lives. The only way to teach people responsibility is thorugh their pocketbooks.
