Thursday February 27, 2014, 6:30 pm do realize if this goes into effect there will be fewer cat adoptions in the US...some people don't want their furniture all clawed up - like my old chair. The one with the upholstery shredded because my two furballs liked to sharpen their claws in the we hours when everyone was matter what I sprayed on it or washed it down with. Do miss them both.

Declawing cannot be banned. There are exceptional situations to consider, and declawing is not the horror it's made out to be by animal rights activists. Declawing should be an informed decision between the owner and veterinarian only!.'re just adding to the euthanasia rate which is already unprecedented.

I noticed a few comments about not being able to declaw a cat causes even more cats to be put down. I disagree
there are always cats in shelters & rescues who have been declawed & are still left homeless. I have adopted one in the past & he was also a Himaylan.
