A family company that's been selling high-fashion furs across the globe for more than 100 years will close its doors April 15. Constantine Pappas said Pappas Furs, located on Hamilton Street across from Victory Square, has a long history in the city.

I am glad to hear that some animals will be saved. Is there a humane way to kill animals for their fur? I'm not sure, but having been familiar with the store for years, I know it will be missed by some and be celebrated by others.

One less fur store selling the remains of tortured animals is always good news.
Sheri-a humane way to kill animals for their fur? Sorry but on what planet do you live that you think animals should be killed for their fur at all? The Nazis made lampshades out of skin. If they had killed people humanely would it have been acceptable to make those lampshades?

What is wrong with this picture - a vegetarian who sold furs. Glad that pappas furs is now closed. So wish the so called Haute Couture designers and the cheap "designers" to stop the usage of ALL FURS, FEATHERS, et al.....

I don't believe he is a Vegetarian, because if he is then he would have closed down the store a long time ago!

It's sad to see a viable business go under, but the British Isles wouldn't be a location that qualifies for the justified use of furs for warmth. I'm sure that given the desperate situation the British economy is in, losing any business and jobs is difficult, but glad to see there's one less place fur trappers can sell their wares.

If only Arab owned Harrods store in London would stop selling furs
This is wonderful news one less
A lot of blame should rest on money grabbing top designers shoulders they repulse me and so many have bad luck I wonder why
