UFC fighter Thiago "The Pitbull" Alves is a tough competitor who fights hard against opponents but has a kind heart when it comes to animals. Unlike loyal dogs who fight because they're conditioned to do so by abusive owners, Thiago chooses the ring.

Thank you for standing up Tiago Alves. We need lots more like you. Fighting is a way of life and that will not change. The majority of the fighting is human or animals, in the wild, fighting for supremacy. The fighting that these poor dogs are subjected to is inhuman and there are no winners. It has to stop.

I'm glad that Thiago Alves is standing up against animal abuse, but by using the name "The Pitbull" isn't he perpetuating the pitbull stereotype as a tough, mean fighting animal ?

Noted and signed. I always speak up! Been threatened with a base ball bat and still spoke up! My two dogs were with me. Told them to make that first hit count because they were going to get ate up once they swung at me. I took the dog off their property and told them to please call the law! never heard from the police or the person. The dog now lives on a farm and not a short leash. Always has food water shelter and love. Will do it again if the need arises! We are their voices because they have none. My voice can get mighty loud!

Thank you for speaking up about these precious lives, they don't have a choice. But we can all speak up when we see something wrong and make a difference for these innocent victims.
