Plant Knowledge: They Can Smell, Sense Color, Spy a Fly

Who knew that a weed can smell the difference between a tomato plant and wheat, a tobacco plant can sense color, and a Venus flytrap can distinguish between the splash of a raindrop and a fly? Like so much in nature, it's a matter of survival.

Now you know why I prefer plants to people. BTW fennel is a bad neighbor while basil encourages other plants to grow.

Thanks for this one... maybe people will stop referring to certain plants as weeds, as a result...

Being a vegetarian I sometimes encounter a-holes who like to taunt me with "plants have feelings and you eat them" with a smirk on their faces.
I guess this will give them more ammo to use on me.
Look at it this way...every thing enters the food chain one way or another (maybe not rocks) best not to cause as much harm as possible. Humans cause the most misery on the planet and their only predator (besides other humans) are viruses and bacteria.

I read that some plants communicate with insects that are beneficial to them.
It's a mysterious world, one we know hardly anything about.
If plants feel vibrations, then no doubt my plants feel the vibration of love I put out to them.

All these new plant studies are fascinated, but I really hope this is the extent of their intelligence or I'm going to start feeling bad about eating them :/
