Mislabeled seafood puts consumers at risk, potentially hiding toxins like mercury or other hidden health dangers. And mislabeled seafood can hide illegally-caught fish or unsustainable fishing, hurting conservation efforts.

Since I no longer eat meat, yay! I do consume more fish than before. I have always been concerned on where fish really comes from, and now even more so. I need to meet local vegans!

Clear accurate labels are essential and we should pay inspectors and collect fines.

Noted and signed. It is not just seafood fraud, the whole food industry labeling is a fraud. All numbers and cryptic words. One needs a special chemist dictionary to go shopping for food.

Signed and noted. I send ages while shopping reading labels for everything. My family will now not eat any fish that is not local. People ask me what I am doing and I tell them. John West is not canned in Canada it is from Asian canneries now from local and imported fish. Their health standard are nowhere up to Australian. Frozen fish is all from overseas. There is a growing number of people that refuse to buy and go without. If it ins't local don't buy it.
