Earth-Size Planet Found With Rocky Core Like Ours

Science & Tech  (tags: space exploration, exoplanets )

Scientists have found a planet way out in the cosmos that's close in size and content to Earth -- an astronomical first. But hold off on the travel plans. This rocky world is so close to its sun that it's at least 2,000 degrees hotter than here, almost...

I sure hope other planets remain safe from us or that more Enlightened Beings intervene when they see how we've trashed our own planet. DUH!

Good for the planet that's its near to sun & hotter. Otherwise humans would end up polluting that planet as well

I heard an Esso ad the other day wherein space travelers visiting earth stopped at an Esso station requesting fuel. The service station manager says yes; asks if they're on the point plan wherein the UFOnauats say yes they are and the manager says that there is intelligent life on other planets.
If there is then they certainly wouldn't be using fossil fuels to bend time and space. They certainly wouldn't allow a simian based species that hasn't fallen far from the trees out of their own backwater solar system. Humanity is too consumed with materialism and is too violent, rapacious and myopic in its puerility in attaining such goods.

That's too bad about the NASA's Kepler Space Telescope, it's been doing a good job ! So...I guess Kepler 78b is a little too hot !! ...Not to mention...a little far away.
