Russians were not only the first to travel to space. They were also the first to secretly carry a bottle of brandy aboard a spaceship, while researchers were still uncertain as to whether to include alcohol into cosmonauts' menu.

I suppose a small bit of alcohol would be okay, but any large amounts could be a disaster. The article states that some amounts may ease the stress, that is not exactly a medical reason to use the alcohol and I fear the consequences might be less than productive.

Talk about being in dry dock. Interesting. I imagine a teeny tiny bit could be permitted for special occasions.
