"'Necessary' for Human Race's Survival" = male-Cattle-Excrement

humankind has about a zillion times more pressing problems, some quite severe ones even threatening SHORT (ie. centuries)-times survival, none of which will in any way be improved by flying a few morons around (or only one way) ANY where in sol system

Right humans need to go to Mars. We've done such a great job of taking care of this planet.

we should stop spending money on dreams. genetics will take us to the stars, not nasa. and forget mars, that's a dead world that might be harboring a deadly sleeping virus.
extending human life will take us across the galaxy. imagine einstein living for 200 to 300 years. we keep our best minds alive longer and we will be traveling the universe.

I think it's more necessary to take better care of our home planet to ensure the survival of humanity. Then explore or colonise other planets and moons...

I agree humanity needs to take better care of this one, but we've been saying that for decades, so I think since so much of society isn't acting we need to head out so that when we have finished poisoning this planet some people may survive.......

if we all learned to coexist with each other and nature I'd feel a lot better..........there is no planet b, but we may need one soon.
