Making dinner without any meat one night a week is an easy, culinarily interesting thing to do. But this personal choice can have a huge impact on public health, natural resources, and the environment.

Meat is poisoned with chemicals. Less meat is better for your health and better for the animals.

I hardly ever have 'real' meat. I live in an assisted living home where we eat lots of chicken and or pork. But I NEVER EAT PORK!!

Agreed Freya.
Not eating meat one day cam lead to 2 nights, 3 nights and So on..When m'y children were young, I read an article relating to, what we call meat...We are having pork or dinner...we ate having roast beef, beef tenderloin, veal, and so on. The children unless raised on a farm, do not hear cow or pig. Packaging with pictures of happy cows on milk cartons, never tell that that little boy calves are often tied to structures that the only freedom is to walk in and out for 3 months before being slaughtered to make veal, never having been able to run or suckle milk from his mother, and little girl calves will replace their mothers one day and give her babies for the same reason.. and on and on and on. Animal after animal suffering the horrors of slaughter or worse. Horse. Cow. pig, Goat, Lamb, chicken, cat and dog amongst others, suffering the fate of being born an animal. Organic farms today are helping, animal activists are helping, parents are becoming, more informed. I still believe that human beings have not earned the right of being referred to as "humane"

Visit a slaughterhouse then all understand that meat is wrong to eat.
Take the step to transform yourself into a vegan.

Meatless Monday is sloooowly catching on, thankfully. I'm just surprised that a serving size is 1/2 lb of meat - that's a hefty chunk.
