We have at least one of these in Atlanta. People manage garden patches and grow food for food banks.

There are all kinds of creative ways to help people grow at least some of their own food. There are quite a few programs that help make fresh produce available to the food insecure. Anybody remember the Grow An Extra Row Campaign to have home gardeners plant extra to be donated to foodbanks?
