Planting Trees in the Mongolian Desert to Fight Dangerous Dust Storms in Seoul

It's not quite the proverbial butterfly flapping its wings creating a hurricane across the world, but desertification in Mongolia is generating dangerous dust storms thousands of miles away.

Somehow this does not seem to be how nature is suppose to work. Deserts are supposed to be deserts and we are supposed to take care of the planet so that humans do not feel compelled to do things like plant trees in deserts. I realize there are oases in deserts but this could all backfire somehow as things often do when people act.

Well, I like tree planting. I don't know enough to know what long-term effects it has in deserts.

I spent a year in Botswana and realize what a difference trees can make, and how daunting a project this can be.

If trees were supposed to be in deserts then there would be trees in deserts! Humans always have to put their noses into everything and then either change it or/and destroy it!

This is what is happening when human beings get chop happy with these trees as which they are doing with other parts of the world....We are all going to pay for these follies....
