Internet security is an arms race - better firewalls, etc. encourage more creativity amongst the crackers. The best defense against these creeps is usually common sense.

I use Twitter ro sell my crafts but that is about it - unsure if it helps - get to know a few people but that's it - it seems - luckily - my account wasn't hacked.

I dont twitter but cyber warfare is a serios problem. As of the past three years Ihave been fighting online hackers wwho have not only gotten into my email but set up tons of other accounts with profiles, etc. that I cantview or shut down! This in turn hasgiven them access to my cell phone, cable tv,bank acct, etc. An entire id theft which is clever and impossible to stop as they are always one step ahead.

Users beware!

And why isn't Twitter doing something to discourage and prohibit such?
