Your mommy and daddy might have told you there are no such things as ghosts. But nearly half the country thinks otherwise.

Welcome to the Matrix. Life exists beyond death which is merely a door that returns us to our true nature. Some people hang around; find what they need then leave. Others don't know how or they just don't want to; fearing what awaits them.

A couple years ago, while at the Whaley house in San Diego, I encountered two (strange) incidents. One was seeing a little dog in one of the rooms downstairs, and then telling the docent how quiet and happy he/she was. She said that it was the spirit of the dog that used to live in the house w/the family. A few nights later, after hours, on a clear night, I went back with a family member and friends to go eat at a nearby cafe. A friend took a picture of my daughter on the porch of the Whaley house, and a ghostly (murky white) figure is standing by the window, inside, next to where my daughter was standing outside, (from the photo). It was really strange, though I didn't feel scared by it. It is creepy tho' in the back yard, where Violet shot herself, and by the tree where the gallows were, and a man was hung. I do believe that there's no explanation other than to say there are spirits with us. Thank you, Agnes for this.

I believe that there is more going on around us than our limited senses perceive. I saw something once and I can't say what it was.

Agree with Craig Zimmerman, our limited senses while on this planet often blind us to what can be out there. Can't say that my parents ever told me that there is no such thing as ghosts. I have a friend who is a security guard and he has encountered some bizarre goings on in one of the out buildings on his rounds...along with some of the night crew. Life and death are filled with mysteries some fascinating and some unnerving.

I do believe in ghosts, I do believe in ghosts ~ yes, absolutely without a doubt there are those that stay "stuck" in certain planes of the spirit world. I have had many encounters with them here on this planet and beyond. This is my opinion only so please take no offense...

One time, in Bristol, RI where there is a lot of Native American history...bloodshed, that type of thing...well, I was going for a job interview to a Bed & Breakfast there on the water where a lot of "business" went down between the soldiers and natives, not to mention the slaves this place was bringing in...on with the story, so I walked in and as soon as I put my foot in the doorway of this place, I felt the pressure of a hand on my shoulder, I turned around & there was no physical person there...but I felt the presence of a soldier. So, I went to the next room where they had the hats of the old soldiers hanging on the wall, so I actually put one on, asking if were alright, no sooner did I do that, a blast of energy shot through my body and I instantly saw what was happening in that moment and time of the soldier that was wearing the hat, heard his voice talking with the other soldiers and I pulled the hat off, it ceased. I asked the woman that was interviewing me "Are there any ghosts here?" and she outright told me about the ghosts that they see and that the people staying there see...So I was one of the many people that felt them there. Also, when I went upstairs, which btw back then, the doorways were made shorter because not many people were tall ~ I saw a light in one of the bedrooms, looked in and saw a man & woman standing there in old attire, then they just dissipated into whitelike smoke. There are so many other times in my life, encounting angels sometimes that save your life is another, I get those all the time, they truly help!

The fact of the matter is that these souls are lost and need guidance many times to where they should go...the light is where ~ it's called moving on, this planet is just a learning place if you will, we live, we learn {hopefully} and then we go into a different realm, it's all good.

Thank you so much for this post dearest Agnes! Excellent subject because so many people are afraid to speak on this...and there's no need to be scared of the unknown, it is what it is...

Thanks Gran for sharing your experience with us. I appreciate people that are open to the discussion of the spirit world. Great comments here ~

Love to all in the Universe and the spiritual world ~ I am not afraid...xo

Good and interesting article! I believe there are spirits, I am positive of it, and they are around us more than most of us realize. I think outside the box :)

I have had my share of experiences with spirits. It started as a child. Then later in life I became a ghost hunter. A spirit called me a jerk, lol. I am no longer with a group but I am always up for a ghost hunt. I haven't done it for several years now. I still have my ghost gadgets.
Gran!!! I want to see that photo!!! The Whaley house is popular among ghost hunters. I have not been there.

This article's purpose was to poke fun. From a simple scientific view (which many have not been able to comes to terms with), matter, which we are, cannot be destroyed. The essence of our being, call it the soul, or what have you lives on.
Without going into details, I know this to be true, have experienced it, and have long embraced it.
