Human Ancestors Had Taste for Meat, Brains

Human ancestors living in East Africa 2 million years ago weren't a steak-and-potatoes crowd. But they had a serious hankering for gazelle meat and antelope brains, fossils discovered in Kenya indicate.

It is logical that a horned animals head would last longer than the body and man figured out how to get into the skull when we scavenged.

If they had some big eggs that could have Brains N Eggs to fix for the clan.

I guess that each human being had to live what their land was offering at that time in order to survive.

Compact nutrition and very heavy dosage of amino acids.

I love brains. Hated to give it up when I became a vegeterian

What is so terrible about this, when people eat insects or vermin. After the war there was still rationing and the only meat available freely was the offal. That included brain which was made into brawn, sweetbread (pancreas) liver, kidneys, hearts and hocks,(pig's trotters), in our recollection there was nothing at all distasteful about any of them. Some were quite delicious. There was far less waste and certainly not the factory farming back in those days.

Two million years ago, quite the history lesson from the hominids. Wonder how the planet looked back then, likely very pristine and much more Natural than it is now.

They did what they had to do to survive. Wonder if they had any fruits, nuts and other things in the diet as well given the warm climate. History that long ago is always fascinating and not a PC, TV or cell phone for any of them. Life was simpler back then, but much more rugged.

People around the world eat brains today along with every part of an animal body. I bet they didn't eat as much meat as we do today because meat was hard to come by when you only had a spear, had to scare animals from their kill or take what they left. We sure eat too much meat. Go without it a few days a week or more if you can and live on veggies, fruit, rice, potatoes and beans(and nuts).
