Meet Cameron D'Ambrosio. He's 18 and lives in a small town outside Boston. He wants to be a rapper and calls himself "Cammy Dee" in his YouTube videos. Oh, and he's been locked up without bail for weeks -- facing terrorism charges and 20 years in prison

so stupid... isn't there something like freedom of speech in the USA? I bet there are thousands of people out there not satisfied with the government, that still doesn't make them terrorists!

Great article. Thanks for sharing. I am very careful about what I post, and I'm also very careful about who I friend. I am actually terrified of friending any of my former classmates now because I've been blocked from sending friend requests to people I don't know and really don't want to get blocked again.

Petition signed yesterday when my friend Henriette forwarded to me.
Today I got an email respond in this regard saying:

We just got bad news. A few hours ago, a judge denied bail once again for Cameron D’Ambrosio, meaning that he will remain locked up in prison, away from his family and held without bail, while he awaits trial on absurdly trumped up “terrorism” charges for posting rap lyrics on the internet.

Still, there's been an overwhelming response to Cam's story and over 70,000 people have signed our petition demanding Cam’s release. The numbers are giving Cam and his family hope. Without you, we wouldn’t have a fighting chance to get some justice for Cam. That's why we need the outpouring to continue. We need your help getting 100,000 signatures over the weekend or we could lose the momentum we have.

We need to keep going big. Methuen police and the judge need to hear that they don't get to trample the First Amendment and ruin a young man’s life in the process. If they don't hear from us right now, Cam stays in jail.

The best thing you can do right now to help Cam is to share this petition with your friends and family. Use the buttons below to help spread the word.

I hope all turns for the better, I feel bad for this kid, but the family I can't imagine how they feel.

Thanks for sharing even though I disagree with him being jailed I can't believe how DUMB this kid is for posting something of that nature after the Boston bombing. I hope he gets out and during his time there ponder how he wound up in this situation..... peace out.

The US is no longer the land of the free like in the eighties.A kid makes a song and sing about the f§$%&&ing truth. And what makes the judge? The completely wrong thing!Gave this young boy a diploma and not punish him.

Great post, Agnes! This really mirrors the development in the world. We need to step back and begin from the beginning again because this is a sign of paranoia, but it is also a sign of how important it is to send the right messages. Thanks Agnes
