The most important thing to remember about the drowning of New Orleans is that it wasn't a natural disaster. It was a man-made disaster, created by lousy engineering, misplaced priorities and pork-barrel politics. Katrina was not the Category 5 killer

Because of the type of topigrahical soil in the N.O. area man was not and should not be living there. N.Orleans is sitting squarely on a massive silt based area which is slowly slipping into the Gulf of Mexico. And, geograpgical scientist know this, its' been going on for twenty or more years. The silt has eroded over time to the point where anything built to stabilize the area is nothing short of impossible.

But political and social activist don't want to hear this, the government is afraid to say it for fear of being told by the masses it can't be true.....................But, it is true, just ask Ol' Ray Nagin if it's true!

Obviously the only inhabitants should be the alligators, snakes and birds for they know what to expect and know how to deal with it.

Animals & birds don't have mayors jockying for a political foothold while talking out of the side of their mouth . If Nagin and his political cohorts had an ounce of decency they would tell the people what is rather than what isn't. But, we all know how much people like yellow bellied Nagin like to beg when there is nothing left to beg for.
Try hard to recall he flew out of New Orleans before anyone knew where he was at the time the hurricane hit. The so called man should stand up and say it like it is instead of hitting the government over the head non stop as if they ordered the hurricane to target N. Orleans exclusively!!

Remember the word silt........Look it up and you will see nothing can be built or living on silt except animals......
No matter what extreme measures are implimented to salvage N. Orleans it will eventually float off into the sea.........................................

I have fond memories of my visit to New Orleans back in the 60's - it was quite impressive to see all the buriels well above ground in the cemetaries. Bette is right on track from my understanding, because of it's history, it is radical to accept that the only intelligent thing is to pack up everything and leave the area.

The perpetual and natural movement of the Mississippi river exiting into the gulf is undercutting the land mass that is New Orleans. Conseqently it continues to sink lower and lower. There is no human way of shoring up the area. It is a horrendous waste of money and potential life in the event of another storm.

It is time for honesty and facing reality. Having the courage to state the facts and pulling out when it is in everyone's highest and greatest good.

I'm sick of hearing about New Orleans. The people on the MS Gulf Coast continue to live in near third-world country conditions and have had no reprieve. It's about time all of the New Orleans complainers traveled a few miles east and helped the people of Bay St. Louis, Waveland, Perlington, and others to rebuild and have a decent roof over their heads and jobs to go to.

Violette......New Orlean is so politically corrupt nothing will ever be done for all the hidden agenda's going on.
N. Orleans has the hightest murder rate in America, and this was long before Katrina only now it is ten times worse because of corruption and political favoritism by his inept honor Nagin.

Nagin has magically convinced all the illiterates he will fix it all, and they are illiterate because Nagin will make sure they stay that way as he has in the past. You see, it's like this.......If the masses get any smarter they will realize Nagin & his cronies will have to produce proof they are doing something to improve their lives instead of pocketing federal monies ment for the hurricane victims, and this was going on long before Katrina.......Its' called skimming.

In the meantime while the masses hope against hope Nagin or someone will help them, another Katrina will come along and Nagin will be out of there faster than one can say Boo! I blame Nagin more than anyone else because he was right there in the middle of it all and left in the middle of it all on a jet. Also, when Nagin stood on the steps of the city county building and declared N.O. as chocolate city it really says something about the mans moral and ethical fiber!

And, Cindi you are so right, no one ever hears anything of the other severly hit areas at all..........

Plant air conditioners-
Grow trees.......
Make a forest...........For the animals......................
