we've seen the scare ads about the Canadian health care system. There's another, factual view - by those of us Americans who've lived in Canada and used their system.

I live dwith my family in British Columbia for 2+ years; reasonable deductions for health care were made from our paychecks but we never paid for prescription drugs or doctors/hospital visits -- while health care is not entirely free in Canada ... the health care system works much better and people live much longer in Canada.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that neither I nor any member in my family were/are Canadian citizens .. still we were provided with THE SAME HEALTH CARE given to ALL CANADIANS (no one is left out) ...

Remember, NO COMPROMI$E ... EVERYONE IN and NO ONE LEFT OUT!!!

Here's how our President Obama still feels about the Public Health Care Option in Health Care Reform ... he said this:

"I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program." (applause) "I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that's what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that's what I'd like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House."

Obama speaking to the Illinois AFL-CIO, June 30, 2003.

Because now that all those conditions that he mentioned in the last sentence have been met it is time to get the "single payer universal health care" he spoke about so passionately in the first sentence.

YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN!

Here's a video clip of Obama supporting universal health care in 2003:

Write to the President, every day to remind him that we'll back him up on keeping his promise to us all for health "care" not health in$urance:

Our fight for equal access to healthcare for all is about democracy, human rights, civil rights, and basic human decency. WE MUST JOIN TOGETHER TO FIGHT FOR OUR CIVIL RIGHTS AND BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS.

We need to bombard the White House, Baucus, Senator Kennedy’s office, and our Senators and Representatives with CALLS, Faxes and Emails for SINGLE PAYER. When you make the calls today, TELL your Senators and Representatives that you are OPPOSED to the Conrad co-op proposal.

ACTION PLAN:

1. Tell Senator Baucus NO On The Conrad Co-Op Proposal!
Please CALL Senator Max Baucus at (202) 224-2651
Call the Senate Finance Committee at (202) 224-4515

2. ASK Obama to support Single Payer reform. Tell him it’s what the country wants and needs. 45 million are uninsured. People are dying because of our current healhcare system. We can’t afford not to have single-payer reform!

COMMENT HERE:

AND HERE: http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/

CALL AND FAX: Phone: Comments: 202-456-1111;
Switchboard: 202-456-1414; FAX: 202-456-2461

3. Call, Fax and Email Senator Kennedy’s office and insist that he put SINGLE-PAYER healthcare reform on the table. Tell Senator Kennedy NO On The Conrad Co-Op Proposal! Object to forcing all Americans to buy health insurance.

You can email him here: http://kennedy.senate.gov/senator/contact.cfm

Fax him here:
FAX Senator Kennedy's Washington office: 202-224-2417
FAX Senator Kennedy's Massachusetts office: 617-565-3183

4. ASK your Senators to co-sponsor S 703, The American Health Security Act.

ASK your Representative to co-sponsor HR 676, The United States National Health Insurance Act. (78 Representatives have signed on as co-sponsors so far).

You can find your legislators’ contact information here:
