My name is Katrina Fox and I am a homosexual. As is the case with Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous, that admission is apparently the first step in my journey to become straight - according to Living Waters, an international ministry

She goes where she will without pretence and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself and only herself."

It is people who are extremist with their views that are a major problem!!
I am a Christian yet I am accepting & respectful of all religions. I am a heterosexual yet I am accepting and respectful of other sexual orientations. I for one do not believe that "Christian" and "warrior" belong together because it is immensely contradictory!! AND, I do try my very best not to judge others, especially in a dergoatory amnner!!!

Christian, the people who know me would laugh heartily at your inferring I am any kind of extremist. I to have experienced bad dealings with humans for over half a century, so I am not naive to your travails. I did not insinuate that Jesus doesn't love you. Again, Jesus does not want us to judge others - period, and it is especially against His wishes for us judge folks we don't even know. You and ALL humans shall remain in my prayers as always. PEACE~

NA & AA ARE NOT A Christian group

Thank you, Christian! Now I understand the background of your opinions better & that can make a lot of difference. It sure is hard to take when folks attack your beliefs, I know that all too well. One example: I've some close friends who are Republicans because its how they were raised (as was I, btw) and I feel frustration on their behalf because the disabled veteran ones & the ones in poverty do not stop to check & learn that they sre being self defeating. Of course I know that not all GOPs do not understand reality and I shouldn't generalize folks. Yet this example is very true. However, at least we're all caring enough to remain good friends. All my Care2 friends do hold the same view as I do on every issue or cause, etc, but when I'm impressed by someone in even just one issue I still consider them a friend.
Hey, you are quite correct in that NA & AA are not Christian groups! That may get misunderstood though because in a lot of communities churches are the only places to hold their meetings.
Peace~

Although I firmly respect the right of any individual to believe as he or she chooses, Kathleen, I have never understood the concept of respect and acceptance for "all" religions themselves. While some beliefs are indeed worthy of that respect and acceptance, some are not. And the addition of a supernatural element should not, in my view, be a cause for automatic respect.

Some religions have, as part and parcel of their belief system, the firm conviction that women are subordinate to men. Some require their adherents to reject all or most medical treatment, even for minor children and babies. Some require animal sacrifice. I do not respect or accept sexism, child abuse, or animal abuse. And there are many other aspects of some religions' dogma which are equally as impossible for me to accept or respect.

Like everything else in life, respect for an entity or belief system must be earned. And the ideas contained in many religions simply do not earn my respect. And certainly not my acceptance.

Wait a tick Christian, you are attacking people for speaking their experiences and at the same time wish your experience was given validity to this topic. No one attacked 'your beliefs' no one 'attacked' anyone. You are the one attacking! The way you reacted to the simplest of words is reason why christianity is looked down upon by some people. Again SOME people, not all, yet you are saying all and no one else but you said all.

Did you even read the article? Trying as they are in this article, they are trying to cure homosexuality. Do you think that there is a CURE for Homosexuality?

Most people speak in generals, just like you have here and when you have the Majority of the people who follow your faith doing UN-g-d like actions, then turn to me and may family saying we are less moral then they, for we are Atheists. Is just as much of a slap in the face type of disrespect, you are telling people here they are giving 'your religious belief'

There becomes a time when we, whom have been very tolerant of the very forceful ways of christianity, of the hatred of any-one-thing NOT christian, when, we stand up and call them out on their wrong doings. And this article speaks a lot on exactly how homosexuality is viewed by most christians.

I am sorry you were abused, but am proud and happy for you that you were able to have your closure by having them placed where they belong. I was unable to get that. When I was 14 I was kidnapped abused and tortured for 4 years, locked away not allowed to go out, having this person call my family telling them I never wanted to see them again. Became pregnant with my eldest child through rape. If you do not accept sexism, child abuse, molesting and animal abuse, then my good sir, you are most defiantly in the WRONG religion. That is what their foundations were laid upon.

I hope you Christian, can over come your hurts and experiences and come back a fresher, more stable, and stronger individual and stop taking what people say in a public discussion as being directed at you and a personal attack.

First of all, that is my youngest daughter, whom I am extremely proud of having. Again attacking for no reason.

As far as a genuine person. Genuine people usually do not lash out in anger over something that has nothing to do with them.

Yes homosexuality is being human, as well as is being idiotic and as there shouldn't be, there is no cure for homosexuality, for homosexuality ISN'T a disease, yet nor is being an idiot.

I haven't a clue as to why you would lash out about Michael being an Aussie, since the actual read/article IS FROM OZ! Which I now know, you didn't even take the time to read and am only using this discussion to lash out on us non-religious people. Yet you take offense to our actual beings, then say we are the ones being intolerant and attacking.

Christian, you seem to be very angry, that is your right to be, yet you are seemingly implying we, as non-religious people, have no right to be angry over the intolerance we have endure throughout the past, because we refuse to follow something that can't be proven to ever have been anything ever in the first place.

G-d bless the believers, hasn't he already? Yet we still live in a World lacking compassion FOR ALL, more so those whom disagree with the people of blind-faith..

All I can wish for you Christian, is peace.

The problem is that the organization mentioned in the news item, Living Waters, is correct from a strictly Biblical point of view. There can be no doubt that the Christian Bible disapproves strongly of homosexuality and considers it to be an abomination. Their concept then, that homosexuality should be "cured", is understandable when taking into account their worldview.

But not when taking into account the reality of the situation. That a fundamental aspect of one's being is hardly something which can be "cured" - and that there is no reason to think that one's sexuality is something which SHOULD be cured in any event. Since sexual preference harms no one and is merely one of the variations of life.

From what I've seen, science is pretty consistent in stating that one's sexuality is not a choice - but is biologically determined. And even if it did turn out to be a choice - that shouldn't matter in the least. Freedom of choice in who we choose to love is hardly a negative thing.

As I stated before... I am not fond any extremism. I do not approve the abuse of lives. I have personally traveled the globe and witnessed many religions. I don't approve of everything they do, BUT I still respect a persons rights to their beliefs. I pray for those whose spirituality may seem misguided. I have known truly wonderful people of al kinds of religions just as I've known many hypocritical Christians et al.
A wonderful Muslim saved my life a couple of times when living overseas as a child. I've been to villages where they were having pagan type ceremonies and was scared, yet later the people were amazingly thoughtful and kind. Anyway, friends, I leave the judging up to God~~~

Michael, what's the big deal about someone "comin out"?!?
I'm straight, yet I am not naive to the plethora of folks who are "accepted" bi-sexuals, and there is NO reason to be anti-gay!!!

Michael, I'm Christians wife, (he is banned at the moment)
Christian is gay but not homosexual. GAY means Happy, just like noddy.

Christian has plenty of homosexual friends, and respects their life style, although he hates pink. Lol
