During filming of an episode of The First 48, a television show similar to Cops, Detroit Police entered a home in search of a murder suspect. After throwing a flash grenade through a window -- a device that emits a bright flash of light incapacitating ...

There are too many horrific stories of brutal American cops. My friend who lives in New York has become afraid of them. I hope there will be justice in this case.

Guns don't accidentally go off. They need a finger on the trigger. This cop clearly was all too willing to shoot first and check at what he shot later. Signed.

Detroit has lost 50% of its police force. Detroit is 50% vacant and on the verge of bankruptcy. The gangs outnumber the police and are better armed. How is it that they can still do this? Could this event be considered negligence on the part of the police at least? I know errors occur but it just seems that police and accidental deaths in the States seem to be too frequent when it comes to these types of happenings.

The Detroit poo poo = stupid, racist shits! May this particular piece of no good "cop" get meted out the jail sentence he richly deserves! If it had been a WHITE GIRL & A BLACK POO POO, oh how differently things would have been. No I do NOT TRUST THE POO POO! To many observational acts of corruption seen personally. Not done to me to others!

Your signature has been recorded. This is happening way too much all across this Country. Isn't the first time that innocent people are being killed in their own home from these tactics. Isn't the first child either. Gestapo in the USA more and more.

I comprehend a policeperson's instructions ~ shoot to kill.
However, surely, humans with I.Q.'s that should be higher than the average, should be able to make a quick determination on how to respond.
These types of accidents? should never occur.

So many of these police 'incidents' warrant investigation. I recall reading about a former officer - Christopher Dorner - who went public about police incidents. He's now deceased and although I don't condone his actions, I do commend him for taking a stand against police ignorance/brutality.
I wish to offer my condolences to the family of Aiyana.

Signed. This kind of unnecessary showmanship appears to be responsible for the death of the poor little girl. Just WHAT did the police think they were doing!?!? This wasn't a scripted Hollywood movie!!! Common sense should have prevailed. I think all the officers involved should all be held accountable for their bullish rush to "make it look good", which happened to involve one especially irresponsible law enforcement officer. A child paid with her LIFE for the grandstanding. This cannot be explained away by any rational means!

Let's hope he doesnt bump his gun again when he sits down for a donut.
So....had he killed another officer with his gun, what would have been the outcome? Would he still be on the force? What the hell was a tv crew going along on a dangerous situation for in the first place? Waaaaay too many questions unanswered. RIP little girl, you must have been terrified in your last minutes of life. RIP angel.

This is very distressing. If it was a pure accident, I wouldn't want the man to be severely punished. If it was neglect in any way then the book should be thrown at him. I'm sure either way he did not want that child dead. Still, she is dead and someone needs to take responsibility.
