i ve lived a summer, while studying, with tiny tiny money. we gathered most of the food from the Nature. at summer.
So, i do definitely NOT hate food, cause i truly know what it feels to be: HUNGRY.
Notice: im not! comparing this with TRUE HUNGER.
Thanks for the advice.

Thanks Frans TNoted. Such a great idea... In these days of global warming, we can never be sure what natural disaster is going to happen. at any time. Here, in Australia in our bush fire season and our flood season I always try to keep a stock of things to use in an emergency.. I can't actually leave the house beca use of all my rescued animals, so have to pray like mad for safety and stay put! I have to make sure I have food and suppllies for the animals.. and for myself too! (I am not like Teresa who hates food!! I DO hope you don't have anorexia dear Teresa. If so, my heart and prayers are with you! Please seek help.) I hadn't thought of some of the things on this list.. Wonderful ideas!

Growing up in MN I learned to always have canned and boxed food in cupboard in case of blizzards. Not so much boxed any more but do keep canned soups, or freeze my own hot dishes for emergencies. Though if SNAP doesn't get okayed there won't be extra anything...especially at the end of the month. Thanks.

Teresa hate can't you not want to savour the flavour of so many fascinating foods?
I hate winter but then...-40 can be annoying - but food? I love organic and healthy food as that tastes wonderful and is great survival food.
