I saw my first bald eagle in the wild...I never realized just how spectacular that would be until he rounded a stand of trees and was headed our way and I got a great view of him and he just took my breath away. Osprey were divebombing him and he was unphased...Like..."Dude, dontcha know I'm the national bird???"Not baby nestling season but the osprey were territorial. Another time I saw a Golden Eagle that was bald on top of his head monk style...a juvenile with new feather coming in...so he really was golden eagle that was also a bald eagle.

We see golden eagles fairly often but of course this is not the area for the bald eagle. Thanks Frans, I signed up for the newsletter.
