The Inuit Sled Dog is one of the most rugged dogs ever. In the 4000-odd years the breed has been around, it crossed the Bering Strait as it helped the Thule civilization migrate from Mongolia to the Eastern Arctic via Alaska in less than three years. ...

A note: reference is made to Nunavik as a Canadian Territory. It is incorrect. The territory is called Nunavut.

The role of southern Canadians, and I guess you could say, Canadians of European descent, in the affairs of First Nations people, no matter where that people reside, is abysmal. From Davis Bay in eastern Labrador to the Pacific Coast peoples, white Europeans have for centuries called for the assimilation of First Nations people. In so doing, a rich culture has been destroyed.

What has happened to the Inuit of the eastern Arctic is yet another example of white "benevolence".

I am very sorry to read that the Canadian government is as bad as the US government in how it treats its native people.

What a terrible tragedy. Sadly, this is only one story of government abuse. $3M isn't nearly enough to compensate for the Inuit's loss of their dogs.

it's everywhere the same -
whether you think of the Red Indians or the Inuit of North America, the Aborigines in Australia or the Maori in New Zealand, the FIRST NATION PEOPLE in Russia or South America ...
"Take"rs are making every effort to rule the "Let"ers and, if they do not comply - try to eradicate them ...

(who stumbles over those terms in quotes: please take reference from author Danel Quinn's trilogy → ISHMAEL; MY ISMAEL; THE STORY OF B ...) I found MY ISHMAEL the best piece out of the three.

So sad. So Canada, the US, romania, bosnia, etc are dog killers?
Canada is even worse as they treat native people bad, one day they will chase all of you away. Whenever they stand up for their rights, I shall not hesitate to stand with them against you.

Thanks Lynn.

Oh this is APPALLINGLY VILE!!! Over here we tend to regard Canada as being a bastion of civilised behaviour and the RCMP as part of that - and we were oh SO wrong according to this article and the report submitted by the excellent retired Judge Jean-Jacques Croteau.

Sadly if one looks at history this is not a lone example of this sort of sadistic behaviour - wherever one goes in the world and whenever one looks at history - there some corrupt and evil people are, making others suffer hideously, just because they can. No wonder these poor souls turned to drink - everything had been taken from them by psychopaths.
